Northpoint ‐ Cambridge Crossing Parcels JK, EF, G, H, I, U

Project Description: This large project involved construction of a new city block in Cambridge, MA, including several office and residential buildings with underground parking. A.A. Will's scope of work included excavating six 35ft-45ft deep underground garages, with associated lateral earth support and bracing, as well as furnishing & installing 511 16” square precast concrete piles. Soils handling included onsite processing, recycling, and transportation of excavated soils to various landfills, recycling facilities, and on-site reuse. In addition, dewatering wells were installed 50’ below grade to depressurize sand lenses as the excavation work reached subgrade for a mat foundation. Outside the building perimeter, site utilities, curbing and paving were installed. Total quantities included over 280,000 SF of sheet piling, 400,000 CY excavation, 11.7 MIL LBS bracing, and 40,000 SF of slurry wall.
